Maxwell/Gunter hosted the "CAT 5-Be Prepared" Boy Scout Camporee Nov. 3-5.

908th units and volunteers lent resources, talents and time to the Maxwell community's large-scale effort hosting nearly 700 Scouts, leaders and demonstration teams from across the state.

The event featured demonstrations that focused on the Scout motto of "Being Prepared." Scouts set up camp on the west side of the base. They also competed in a series of timed events and viewed demonstrations from state agencies as well as Air Force members that showcased weapons of mass destruction response, medical triage, downed power lines, and military working dogs.

The 908th AW's contribution included a mock aircraft fire suppression demonstration, and aeromedical evacuation demos from the back of a unit C-130 aircraft.
