MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- Senior Airman Tyson Eggleston is a Flight Medic with the 908th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron. Eggleston has been with the 908th since July of 2020 and has been with the AES for his whole career. As an Emergency Communication Services Specialist on the civilian side of his life, Eggleston has dedicated himself to helping those in need.
“Seeing my patients go from sick to healthy is an unmatched feeling,” he said. “Countless times I’ve seen people make complete turnaround from some of the lowest points in their life. Having the ability to be that light in the dark for people is something I wouldn’t trade for the world.”
Not one to settle, Eggleston is pursuing a degree in Biochemistry at University of Alabama at Birmingham, which he plans to use to further help those in need. Once he earns his degree, Eggleston plans to commission as an officer and remain in the medical field in the Air Force.
Eggleston is continuing a long family tradition of service. With a grandfather who served in the Air Force and two uncles in the Army, Eggleston said he always knew that one day he would follow the same path to service.
“I’ve always been drawn to helping people and always knew I wanted to wear this Air Force uniform,” he said. “I saw enlisting as an amazing opportunity to carry on the family tradition and accomplish two of my lifetime dreams.”
Senior Airman Eggleston is an outstanding example of the Air Force core value “Service Before Self”. A dedicated Airman and citizen, Eggleston works tirelessly in every facet of his life to ensure that he has the skills to help the people most in need. These admirable qualities are what make Eggleston one of the many great examples of 908 AW Airmen who give their all in service to others both in and out of uniform.
