Bringing them home

Capt. Richard Foote, an Air Force Reserve Command flight nurse with the 908th Airlift Wing at Maxwell AFB, Ala., gets a high five from Army Private Amber Zeunen as she was transported home aboard one of the wing's C-130 aircraft. Zeunen was injured while serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Flight and aeromedical evacuation crews from the 908th are currently flying missions from Andrews AFB, Md. They transport wounded/injured service members to treatment facilities near either their homes or current duty locations. Foote and other Reservists assigned to the 908th have been assisting with moving wounded and injured service members since September. "We are performing an important and valuable job bringing home wounded service members to their families. Employer and family support is very important. It makes being away from family easier knowing that my family is being cared for," Captain Foote said. (U.S. Air Force photo by Lt. Col. Jerry W. Lobb, 908th AW Public Affairs)
