IAST Enhances Aircrew Readiness

Master Sgt. David Simmons and Tech. Sgt. Joshua Cowart, special mission aviators with the 703rd Helicopter Squadron, inspect the control panel of an Integrated Aircrew Systems Trainer during a pre-and-post flight training session at Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama on Dec. 11, 2024. The IAST is a refurbished AW-139 helicopter which enables students to practice vital skills such as pre-and-post flight inspections, egress procedures, and hoist operations in preparation for their role as Special Mission Aviators for the MH-139 Grey Wolf, in convoy support, search and rescue, and global strike missions.
