MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala. -- Master Sgt. Warren “Neal” Moore is the lead parachute rigger and the non-commissioned officer in charge of aerial delivery with the 25th Aerial Port Squadron.
The Selma-native shipped off to Air Force Basic Military Training just two weeks after graduating high school in 2005. He was active duty at Joint Base Charleston for four years. While there he worked in aerial delivery and air transportation.
In December 2009, Moore switched from active duty to being a reservist with the 908th Airlift Wing. He has been the NCOIC of air delivery within 25th APS since 2017. Moore is currently in an Active Guard/Reserve position but prior to that he was an Air Reserve Technician. Since switching to the 908th AW Moore has specialized in what he hopes to continue to do until he retires – rigging parachutes.
“I enjoy packing parachutes and getting to see what we build and pack come out of the back of the airplanes,” said Moore.
Moore said that he feels a huge sense of accomplishment by doing this job and teaching others how to do it as well.
“You feel really proud because you know you’re sending troops their food, ammo, rations, and cleaning supplies,” said Moore. “When it goes out of the back of the plane, you know they have stuff to live off of and protect themselves.”
Having Airmen who take pride in their profession like Master Sgt. Moore makes the 908th AW more effective at providing support to troops, thus ensuring that the 908th AW is able to provide combat capability anytime and anywhere.
